July 30: Saints Silas, Silouanos, Kriskis, Andronikos and Einatos are celebratedtranslated

Today, Wednesday, July 30, our Holy Orthodox Church honors the memory of five saints of the apostolic years, who belonged to the wider circle of seventy disciples of the Lord. Their names are:

Silas, who according to the book of Acts was a follower of the Apostle Paul, who was imprisoned with him in Philippi in Macedonia and then became bishop of Corinth.

Silouanos, also a fellow traveler of the Apostle Paul, who became the bishop of Thessaloniki and suffered many sufferings for the spread of the holy Gospel, since the Thessalonians, influenced by Greek philosophy, faced the preaching of Christ rationally.

Crescis, who according to the Second Epistle to Timothy, went to Gaul, i.e. today's France, and became bishop of Carthage.

Andronicus, who assisted the apostle of the Gentiles on his tour of Rome,

and Praised, who taught in parts of North Africa and became bishop of Carthage.
