The 24th Panhellenic Torch Run of Voluntary Blood Donors in Rethymno and Amaritranslated

The reception and the route of the Flame of the 24th Panhellenic Voluntary Blood Donor Torch Relay, organized by the Panhellenic Federation of Voluntary Blood Donor Associations (POSEA), under the auspices of the "Life Donors" Association, took place with great success, a high sense of social contribution and the participation of a large number of people. The starting point of the event was given on Friday 24/07/2026 at 19:00 from the Holy Church of the Holy Four Martyrs of the Holy Metropolis of Rethymno and Avlopotamos.

After the Doxology, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Rethymno and Avlopotamos, Mr. Prodromos, lit the light from the dormant candle of the Holy Four Martyrs and handed it over to the President of the Association of Volunteer Blood Donors "Life Donors", Mr. Giorgos Katika. The flame was then distributed to the local authorities and the citizens present.

In their inspiring speeches, both His Eminence Metropolitan Mr. Forerunner as well as the President of the Association, Mr. George Katikas, underlined the utmost importance of voluntary blood donation as a supreme act of love, solidarity and contribution to fellow human beings.
