Russian Church and Iran are going through a "golden period": What brings together Orthodox Moscow and Islamic Tehrantranslated

A message of gratitude from the current leader of Iran, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, was received by the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, Mr. Cyril in which the deep relationship between the peoples of Russia and Iran is emphasized which, according to the Ambassador of Iran in Moscow, is going through a "golden period" having as a starting point the common perceptions of Orthodox Russia and Muslim Iran on traditional values.  By Nikolaos Zaimis On July 30, 2026, the Russian Primate met with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Russian Federation, Kazem Jalali, at the Patriarchal Residence of the Danilov Monastery in Moscow.

The gratitude of the Ayatollah Welcoming the guest, Mr. Kyrillos fondly recalled their last meeting: "We discussed our bilateral relations and the importance of dialogue between our religions. I am especially glad that we are resuming our fraternal dialogue and contact," he said, according to patriarchia.ru.
