About the need for the faithful to visit the temple on Bright Week.
Throughout the entire week from the holy day of the Resurrection of Christ our God until New Sunday, the faithful must certainly spend time in the holy churches in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, rejoicing and celebrating in Christ, listening to the reading of the Divine Scriptures and enjoying the Holy Mysteries: thereby we will be resurrected and exalted with Christ. Therefore, on these days, horse riding or any other folk spectacle should never take place.

Ἀπὸ τῆς ἁγίας ἀναστασίμου Χριστοῦ τοῦ Θεοῦ ἡμῶν ἡμέρας, μέχρι τῆς καινῆς Κυριακῆς, τὴν ὅλην ἑβδομάδα ἐν ταῖς ἁγίαις ἐκκλησίαις σχολάζειν δεῖ ἀπαραλείπτως τούς πιστούς ἐν ψαλμοῖς, καὶ ὕμνοις, καὶ ᾠδαῖς πνευματικαῖς, εὐφραινομένους ἐν Χριστῷ, καὶ ἑορτάζοντας, καὶ τῇ τῶν θείων Γραφῶν ἀναγνώσει προσέχοντας, καὶ τῶν ἁγίων μυστηρίων κατατρυφῶντας. Ἐσόμεθα γὰρ οὕτω Χριστῷ συνανιστάμενοί τε, καὶ συνανυψούμενοι. Μηδαμῶς οὖν ἐν ταῖς προκειμέναις ἡμέραις ἱπποδρόμια, ἢ ἑτέρα δημώδης θέα ἐπιτελείσθω.
