The Kazan Mother of God Monastery looks peaceful this morning. It always reminds me a bit of the quiet corners in our own church back home.

A quiet wooden chapel by the lake at dawn. It makes me think of how the day can start in complete stillness before everything wakes up.

The sunbeams cutting through the clouds over the cathedral always stop me for a second. It reminds me how even on ordinary days something bigger is quietly breaking in.

After liturgy a few of us drove out and came across this quiet forest path leading to the little wooden chapel. It felt like the right place to stop and say a prayer before heading back.
