About the patronage of a blessed old age, about a peaceful departure from life and good Christian parting words to the righteous Simeon the God-Receiver

Oh, great servant of God, God-receiving Simeon! Standing before the Throne of the great King and our God, Jesus Christ, with great boldness I have come to Him, in your arms, for the sake of salvation, rush to the one who deigns. To you, as a much-powerful representative and a strong man of prayer for us, we, sinners and unworthy (names), come running. Pray for His goodness, that He may turn away His anger from us, righteously moving against us according to our deeds, and, having despised our countless sins, turn us to the path of repentance and on the path of His commandments will confirm us. Protect our life in the world with your prayers, and ask for all good haste, granting us everything we need for life and piety. Through your intercession, deliver all the cities and villages of our country from all misfortunes and troubles and unnecessary deaths, and protect them from all enemies, visible and invisible, with your protection. Let us live a quiet and silent life in all piety and purity, and so, having passed this temporary life in the world, we will achieve eternal peace, where we will be made worthy of Heaven The Kingdom of Christ our God. To Him all glory is due, with the Father and His Most Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.
