The Hellenic Red Cross in P. Faliro: Information on water safetytranslated

The Hellenic Red Cross (HEC), in collaboration with the Municipality of Paleo Faliro, commemorated World Drowning Prevention Day by organizing a large informational and educational event on water safety, which took place on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Eden Beach, in Paleo Faliro, in the presence of the President of the Hellenic Red Cross, Dr. Antoniou Avgerinos and the General Secretary of the E.E.S. Mr. Georgios Skoumas. The action brought together more than 150 participants, young and old, with the main objective of informing and raising public awareness of the prevention of drowning and water accidents, a particularly important public health issue that still costs hundreds of human lives every year in our country.
The participants had the opportunity to get to know up close the high-level capabilities of the Lifesaving School of the Hellenic Red Cross, as well as the specialized Junior Lifesaver and Lifesaver programs of the E.E.S., which promote training and the cultivation of a safety culture in the liquid element.
