A new Romanian chapel in Italy has started its liturgical activity: It is protected by St. Ilie Lăcătusutranslated

The new chapel in Pontedera–Fornacette, Italy, protected by the Holy Confessor Priest Ilie Lăcătusu, began its liturgical activity at the end of last week.

The event began on Saturday, with the service of Aghesma, followed by Vespers. On Sunday, the Holy Liturgy was celebrated for the first time, preceded by the Akathist and the commemoration of the fallen.

Both services were attended by many believers from Pontedera, Fornacette and the neighboring towns, highlighting the need of the Orthodox Romanians in this part of Tuscany to have a place close to prayer and liturgical life.

The service of the new community was entrusted to Father Florentin Vesiteu, who will coordinate the liturgical and pastoral-missionary activity of the place of worship.

The representatives of the community expressed their gratitude to His Holiness Father Siluan, the Bishop of Italy, the Romanian clergy who supported the organization of the community, as well as to the representatives of the local Roman Catholic Church who made the space for the new chapel available to the Romanian believers.

Glory to God. Good news that they started with agheas and vespers, and on Sunday the first Liturgy with akathist. Father Florentin Vesiteu may be healthy, and the faithful in Tuscany may now have a place close to home. Congratulations to the community.
