Prayer to the Lord

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, Lamb of God, take away the sins of the world, good Shepherd, lay down your soul for your sheep, heavenly Physician of souls and our bodies, heal every sickness and every ulcer among Your people! I bow down to You, help me, Your unworthy servant. Look, O Most Merciful, upon my work and service, grant me to be faithful in small ways: to serve the sick, for Your sake, to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to myself, but to You alone to please all the days of my life. For thou hast said, O Sweetest Jesus: Thou shalt do the least of these least of these brethren, Thou hast done unto Me. By this, Lord, judge me, a sinner, according to this word of Yours, so that I may be deemed worthy to do Your good will for the consolation and consolation of the tempted, ailing Thy servants, their You have redeemed me with Your honest Blood. Send down upon me Thy grace, the thorns that burn in me through passions, calling me, a sinner, to the work of serving in Thy Name; Without You we cannot do anything: visit us at night and tempt my heart, sometimes stand before the world at the head of the sick and cast down; wound my soul with your love, which endures everything and never falls away. Then I will be able, strengthened by You, to fight a good fight and maintain the faith, even until my last breath. For You are the Source of healings of soul and body, Christ our God, and to You, as the Savior of men and the Bridegroom of souls, coming at midnight, be glory and thanksgiving and worship we send, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Prayer before the icon of the Mother of God “Tenderness”1

Accept, O all-merciful, Most Pure Lady, Lady Theotokos, these honorable gifts, the only ones bestowed upon You, from us, Your unworthy servants: chosen from all generations, all the creatures of heaven and the highest thing on earth, because for Your sake the Lord of hosts was with us, and through You we knew and became worthy of the Son of God, His holy Body and His most pure Blood; Moreover, blessed art thou in the lineages of generations, O blessed one, the brightest of the Cherubim and the most honest of the Seraphim. And now, all-singing Most Holy Theotokos, do not cease praying for us, your unworthy servants, so that we may be delivered from all evil advice and every situation and may remain unharmed from every poisonous device of the devil; but even to the end, through Your uncondemned prayers, keep us, as through Your intercession and help we are saved, glory, praise, thanksgiving and worship for everything in the Trinity to the One God and the Creator of all we send, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

St. Seraphim of Sarov
Prayer 1st2

Oh, wonderful Father Seraphim, great miracle worker of Sarov, quick and obedient helper to all who come running to you! During the days of your earthly life, no one was weary and inconsolable when you left, but everyone was blessed by the sight of your face and the sweet voice of your words. Moreover, the gift of healing, the gift of insight, the gift of healing for weak souls has appeared abundantly in you. When God called you from earthly labors to heavenly rest, your love ceased from us, and it is impossible to count your miracles, multiplying like the stars of heaven: behold, in all At the end of our earth you appear to the people of God and grant them healing. In the same way, we cry out to you: O humble and meek servant of God, bold man of prayer to Him, reject no one who calls you! Offer up your merciful prayer for us to the Lord of strength, may He grant us all that is beneficial in this life and all that is useful for spiritual salvation, may He protect us from the falls of sin and may He teach us true repentance, in particular let us enter without any hindrance into the eternal Kingdom of Heaven, where you now shine in everlasting glory, and there sing with all the saints the Life-Giving Trinity forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer 2nd2

Oh, reverend Father Seraphim! Offer up for us, servants of God (names), your merciful prayer to the Lord of hosts, may He grant us all that is useful in this life and all that is useful for spiritual salvation, may He protect us from the falls of sin and true may he teach us repentance, so that we may enter without stumbling into the eternal Kingdom of Heaven, where you are now in everlasting glory, and there sing with all the saints the Life-Giving Trinity in eyelids of centuries.

Saint John the Merciful, Patriarch of Alexandria

Saint John of God, merciful protector of the orphans and those in adversity! We resort to you and we pray to you, your servants (names), as the quick patron of all who seek consolation from God in troubles and sorrows. Don’t stop praying to the Lord for everyone who flows to you in faith! You, filled with Christ’s love and goodness, have appeared as a wonderful palace of the virtue of mercy and have acquired for yourself the name “Merciful.” You were like a river, constantly flowing with generous mercies and abundantly watering all who were thirsty. We believe that after you moved from earth to heaven, the gift of sowing grace increased in you and that you became an inexhaustible vessel of all goodness. By your intercession and intercession before God, create “all kinds of joy,” so that all who come running to you may find peace and serenity: grant them consolation in temporary sorrows and help in the needs of everyday life, instill in them the hope of eternal rest in the Kingdom of Heaven. In your life on earth, you were a refuge for all who were in every trouble and need, for the offended and sick; Not a single one of those who came to you and asked you for mercy was deprived of your mercy. Likewise now, reigning with Christ in heaven, appear to all who worship before your honorable icon and pray for help and intercession. Not only did you show mercy to the helpless, but you also raised the hearts of others to the consolation of the weak and to the charity of the poor. Move even now the hearts of the faithful to intercede for the orphans, comfort the mourners and reassure the needy. May the gifts of mercy not fail in them, and moreover, may there be joy in them (and in this house, which watches over the suffering), peace and joy in the Holy Spirit - to the glory of the Lord and our Savior Jesus Christ, forever and ever. Amen.

Saint Tikhon of Zadonsk

Oh, all-praised saint and saint of Christ, our Father Tikhon! Having lived like an angel on earth, you, like a good angel, appeared in your wondrous glorification. We believe with all our souls and thoughts, as you, our compassionate helper and man of prayer, through your simple intercessions and grace, abundantly bestowed upon you from the Lord, will ever help you our salvation. Accept, blessed servant of Christ, at this hour our unworthy prayer: free us through your intercession from the vanity and superstition that surrounds us, the unbelief and evil of man. Strive, quick representative for us, with your favorable intercession to beg the Lord, may He add His great and rich mercy to us, sinners and unworthy His servants (names), may He heal With His grace, may the incurable sores and scabs of our corrupted souls and bodies dissolve our petrified hearts with tears of tenderness and contrition for our many sins and deliver us eternal torment and fire of Gehenna; May He grant to all His faithful people in this present world peace and silence, health and salvation and good haste in everything, so that they may live a quiet and silent life in all piety and purity, let us be honored with the Angels and all the Saints to glorify and sing the all-holy name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
