The Church of the firstborn triumphs,/ and the mother rejoicing over her children will rejoice,/ even as the wisdom of the same name/ with the triple theological virtue of equal number beget./ You and the wise virgins behold the ignorant Bridegroom God the Word,/ with her and we spiritually rejoice in their memory, saying:/ The champions of the Trinity,/ Faith, Love and Hope,//confirm us in faith, love and hope.
Honest Sophia, the most sacred branch,/ Faith and Hope and Love, appearing,/ wisdom enshrouded Hellenic grace,/ both the sufferer and the victorious one appeared,// the crown The Lord Christ has become incorruptible from all.
Oh, holy and praiseworthy martyrs Vero, Nadezhda and Lyuba and valiant daughters of the wise mother Sophia! We come to you now with fervent prayer. What else can intercede for us before the Lord, if not faith, hope and love, these three abiding virtues, in whose image they are called, the very things of which are revealed? Pray to the Lord, that in sorrows and misfortunes He may cover us with His indescribable grace, and preserve His glory, like the unsetting sun, that He may be worthy to see. Help us in our humble prayers, may the Lord God forgive our sins and iniquities, and may He have mercy on us sinners, and may Christ God grant us His bounty, to Him we ascribe glory, with His Beginning Father, and His Most Holy and Good and Life-giving Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
We glorify, magnify and bless you, holy martyrs Vero, Nadezhda and Lyuba, together with the wise mother Sophia, whom we worship as an image of God’s care representing. Pray, Saint Vera, the Creator of the visible and invisible, to give us strong, unblemished and indestructible faith. Intercede, holy Hope, before the Lord Jesus for us sinners, so that the hope for good may not be taken away from us and may deliver us from all sorrow and need. Confession, holy Lyuba, to the Spirit of truth, the Comforter, our misfortune and sorrow, may He from above send down heavenly sweetness to our souls. Help us in our troubles, holy martyrs, and together with your wise mother Sophia, pray to the King of kings and the Lord of lords, that he may keep the Church under protection Your saint. With tears of tenderness falling to you, we fervently pray for your warm intercession before God, so that together with you and with all the saints we exalt and glorify the most holy and great name The Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit of God, the Eternal Lord and the good Creator, now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Memorial Day September 17/30
They suffered in the 2nd century. under Emperor Hadrian. The young Christian women amazed everyone with their steadfastness in confessing their faith. The sisters were tortured in front of their mother, but St. urged her daughters to be firm. They pray to the holy martyrs for success in the main Christian virtues - faith, hope and love, as well as for strengthening in faith, for preserving teenagers from the temptations of the world and lack of faith, for Christian love between parents and children.
