Prayer of the 1st Metropolitan of Novgorod and St. Petersburg Gregory

Remember, O Lord who loves mankind, the souls of your departed servants - the babies who in the womb of their Orthodox mothers died unexpectedly from unknown actions, or from a difficult birth, or from some carelessness, and therefore they did not accept the Holy Sacrament of Baptism! Baptize them, Lord, in the sea of Your bounties and save them with Your ineffable grace. Amen.

Prayer 2 for the stillborn baby of St. Stephen of Bethlehem

Lord, have mercy on my children who died in my womb! For my faith and tears, for the sake of Your mercy, Lord, do not deprive them of Your Divine light!

Prayer 3rd

Master, Lord Jesus Christ, our God, God of spirits and all flesh, who was born of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary in dens and mangers for the salvation of the world, You You called the children and this volume and river: “Leave the children to come to Me and do not forbid them, for such is the Kingdom of Heaven.” You are the One who came and healed every ailment among people, and through Your death you trampled down death, giving life to the world. We pray to You and we ask You, look upon Your servants and Your wealth, and tame their mournful cry about the untimely translocation of their newborn baby (name) and grant them consolation. And whoever was born from them had a baby who did not receive the Holy Baptism of Thy grace. For Thou art rest for our souls and bodies, O Christ our God, and to Thee we ascribe glory, together with Thy Eternal Father, and the Most Holy, and the Good, and the Life-giving Spirit, now and forever and ever. Amen.

Grigory (Postnikov) (11/01/1784–06/17/1860), Metropolitan of Novgorod, St. Petersburg, Estonia and Finland, member of the Holy Synod. Preacher, theologian, researcher and fighter against the Old Believers. The founder of church periodicals in Russia.
