Today the Divine David is filled with joy, / Joseph brings praise with Jacob, / for having received the crown with the kinship of Christ, / they rejoice and ineffably on earth sing praises to Him who is born, and cry out: // Generously, save those who worship You.
Oh, holy righteous Joseph! You were still on earth, great was it that you had boldness towards the Son of God, who deigned to call you His Father, like the betrothed to His Mother, and to listen to you: We believe that now from the faces of the righteous in the heavenly abodes, you will be heard in all your petitions to God and our Savior. Moreover, having resorted to your protection and intercession, we humbly pray to you: just as you yourself were delivered from the storm of doubtful thoughts, hereby deliver us too, from the waves of confusion and overwhelmed by passions: just as you protected the All-Immaculate Virgin from human slander, protect us in the same way from all vain slander: just as you protected us from all harm and bitterness of the incarnate Lord, by your intercession preserve His Orthodox Church and all of us from all bitterness and harm. Weigh, O Holy One of God, as the Son of God in the days of His flesh You had need for bodily needs, and You served them: for this reason we pray to You, and to ours Help our temporary needs through your intercession, giving us all the good things we need in this life. We most earnestly ask you, grant us forgiveness of sins from the Son who has been named, the Only Begotten Son of God, our Lord Jesus Christ, and worthy to be an inheritance Create the Kingdom of Heaven for us through your intercession, and we, who dwell with you in the mountain villages, will glorify the One Trihypostatic God, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and forever.
