To the True Hierarch Jesus Christ, offering to God the Father on the altar of the cross a pure, undefiled sacrifice for us sinners, and giving us Your Body and Blood Drink yours, placing the sacrament in the power of the Holy Spirit, this verb: whenever you do, do in My remembrance: I pray through Your dearest Blood, for the great salvation our value, I pray through this wondrous and inscrutable love, even though you loved us unworthy so much, for you washed us from our sins with your blood: Teach me Thy unworthy servant, who with Thy other gifts, to the rank of priesthood, not according to my work, but according to Thy alone Thou hast deigned to call upon mercy: teach I want to accomplish such a mystery with Your Spirit, with great honor and reverence, with great piety and fear, in the image that is worthy of doing. Make me, Lord Jesus Christ, by Your grace to always sow the majesty of the mystery, to believe and understand, to feel, and to hold firmly, to speak and think befitting You, and useful to my soul. May Your good Spirit enter into my heart, speak silently, proclaiming all the truth of so many mysteries, which have deepened deeply and are covered with divine blood. Much for the sake of Thy mercy, favor me, now and always, with a pure heart and thought, to perform the sacred rite. Cleanse your heart from unclean, vile, idle, and harmful thoughts. Protect the holy angels with faithful guardianship and strong militia: so that the enemy of all blessings may flee to shame by the power of so much of the sacrament, and by the hand of Your holy angel, Leave from me, my Christ, and from all Your servants the spirit of pride, vanity, envy, rage, fornication, uncleanness, unbelief and blasphemy, so that those who persecute us may be ashamed. Those who strive to destroy us will perish.
O King of strength, purity and chastity, Lover, O God, with the dew of Thy blessing from above, extinguish in my flesh all the passionate flame, for may the whole soul and body live in me purity, with Your other gifts that are truly pleasing to You: that with an undefiled body and a pure heart, I may be able to offer You a sacrifice of praise, with great contrition of heart, tears outpouring, with such honor and fear, in such purity of flesh and spirit, this heavenly divine offering must be completed, where Your Body is essentially eaten, and Thy blood is essentially drunk, where things above copulate together, where angels stand in person, where priest and sacrifice are wonderfully and ineffably offered, You Yourself are offered. And who is worthy to do this, if not You Yourself, Almighty Lord, are worthy to create the offering? We know that I am truly known, and I confess this to Your mercy, that I am not worthy to approach such mysteries for the sake of my many sins and countless sins, but truly, and I believe with all my heart, and I confess with my lips, that You are able to honor me, You Himself alone, who was conceived in iniquity and was born able to cleanse. For the sake of this Thy omnipotence, I pray to You: favor me, a sinner, with this heavenly sacrifice with fear and trembling, a clear conscience, an outpouring of tears, in spiritual joy and gladness divine offering: may my mind feel the blessedness of Your coming, the sweetness and the host of Your holy angels around me:
And so, Lord, remembering Your saving Passion, I approach Your altar, even though unworthy, so that I may bring You a sacrifice devoted to You, and offer it in remembrance of Your salvation ours set. Accept this, I pray to Thee, my God, for the Church of Thy Saints, and for all the people whom Thou hast provided with Thy Honor and Blood: and without me a sinner among You desired to be an intercessor through you and them, and even if you did not find evidence of good deeds in me, the ministry of reconciliation was entrusted to me, and you did not renounce: for it is not for my sake. unworthiness, the price of your salvation will be lost, for whose sake you yourself deigned to have a saving sacrifice and atonement.
I bring you, Lord, [if you deign to mercifully look upon] the sorrows of people, the groanings of the captives, the suffering of the poor, the needs of those who travel, the sorrows of the weak, the infirmities of the old, the sobs of a child, the vows of virgins, the prayers of widows, and the tenderness of orphans. For You are merciful to all things, and you despise nothing created by You. Remember, this is our constitution, for You are our Father: do not be angry with us, nor shut the wombs of Your compassions from us, O Lord, for it is not in our righteousnesses We pour out our prayers before Thy face, but in Thy compassions there are many. Take away from us, Lord, our iniquities, and with the fire of Your Holy Spirit mercifully incinerate us: take away the heart of stone from our flesh, and give the heart of flesh fearing You, loving, honoring, following You, and feeding on You. We ask, Master, Thy generosity, that with a bright face may Thy patrimony, waiting for Thy holy name, be pleased: and may the same prayer, the same petition It will be disgusted, You teach us to pray, even if You Yourself are ready to hear, and when we ask for mercy, we fulfill them.
We pray to Thee, Holy Father, for the departed souls of the faithful, that this great pious sacrament may be for them deliverance, salvation, joy, and eternal joy: Lord God my, give them complete and complete consolation this day, from You, the True, Living Bread, who came down from heaven and gave life to the world, from the flesh of Your Holy One, the Lamb unclean, taking away the sins of the world. Give them a drink of the stream of Thy goodness that flowed from Thy pierced rib on the Cross, so that they may rejoice in Thy Holy praise and glory.
I pray to the Lord, Your goodness: may the fulfillment of Your Divinity come upon this bread and this cup, and may the invisible image of Your Holy Spirit descend, and incomprehensible glory, as before the sacrifices of the fathers, like these offerings of ours, may He make Thy Body and Blood, and Thy less unworthy servant He will teach you to perform the sacrament: May you accept from my hands a sacrifice that is acceptable and merciful for the salvation of all the living and the dead.
I pray to You, Lord, for the very sake of Your Holy Body and Blood of Your Sacrament, so that we are always fed and drunk in Your temple, cleansed, sanctified and adored, yes strengthened by Thy power, having come to Thy altar with a good conscience, I have this heavenly sacrament in me for life and salvation, according to Thy holy word: The bread that I will give, My flesh is, even I will give for the life of the world: he who eats Me and he will live for My sake. Sweetest bread, heal the mouth of my heart, so that I may feel Your sweet love in me: heal every ailment, and besides You, I will desire beauty in no way. Purest bread, all sweets and aromas abundant, enter into my heart, and fill my inner soul with the sweetness of Your incense. The angels in heaven feed on You abundantly: may the stranger on earth also be satisfied with You according to his strength. Holy Bread, Living Bread, Desired Bread, come down from heaven and give life to the world, come into my heart and cleanse me from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit: enter into my soul outside and inside, sanctifying and enlightening: be my constant guardianship of soul and health of body. Drive away from me those who come against me, let those who hate me flee from Your face: so that I am protected by You, I will pass with You into Your eternal kingdom, where not in veil, but face to We will see Your face when You hand over the kingdom to God and the Father, so that God may be all in all. Until now I hunger and thirst, but then I will be satisfied, when Your glory will appear to me, in which You reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, forever, amen.
