Troparion, tone 8

A zealot of Orthodoxy, a teacher of piety,/ a good helmsman to those seeking salvation,/ a God-inspired adornment to monastics,/ God-bearing Euthymius interlocutor, Saint Dionysius,/ You have enlightened your fatherland with your teachings and virtues,/ do not forget us who honor you, // but rule our lives in peace.

Kontakion, tone 8

The Russian star from Kiev has risen/ reached through Nizhny Novgrad to Suzhdal,/ and illuminated this whole country with teaching,/ we will please the God-wise Dionysius,// who prays to the Lord to save our souls.

Prayer

Oh, Holy Hierarch Father Dionysius, you weigh the weakness of our nature and the sorrow of the present times, shed your warm prayers for us and beg the Lord, the Lover of mankind, not to destroy us with iniquities ours, but will turn us to repentance and correction, and the rest of our earthly life is not in the work of sin and passions, but in doing His holy commandments and in piety. Do not despise or disgrace our hope, but be a non-silent representative for us to God, may he preserve us from worldly temptations, from the devil’s snares and from carnal lusts, may he grant us patience in battles unrelenting. At the hour of death, Father, an invincible intercessor, appears to us, hasten then to pray for us helpless, and help us to achieve a peaceful and good end, the terrible ordeal of the air without The obstacles are a minute and you will enter the Heavenly Mountains of Jerusalem. Oh, our all-blessed father Dionysius, grant us to follow, according to our strength, your holy life! For through the all-merciful intercession of our Most Blessed Lady, the Mother of God and Ever-Virgin Mary, and through your holy prayers, the Most Blessed Christ our God will grant us heirs to be His Kingdom Heavenly, glorifying and magnifying Him together with His Beginning Father, and His Most Holy and Good and Life-Giving Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
