My heart has loved You, Lord, and therefore I miss You and seek You tearfully.
You decorated the sky with stars, the air with clouds, the earth with seas, rivers and green gardens where birds sing, but my soul loved You and does not want to look at this world, although it is beautiful.
My soul desires only You, Lord. I cannot forget your quiet and meek gaze, and I tearfully pray to you: Come and dwell, and cleanse me from my sins. You see from the height of Your holy glory how my soul misses You. Do not forsake me, Your servant; Hear me cry out like the Prophet David: “Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your great mercy.”
In the same way the tree longs for the springs of water, my soul longs for you, O God. My soul thirsts for the mighty, living God: when will I come and appear to the face of God? My tears were my bread day and night, and I would always say to me every day: “Where is your God?” I remembered this, and poured out my soul: for I will go to the place of the wondrous village, even to the house of God, in the voice of joy and confession, the noise of the celebrant. How sorrowful are you, my soul? and do you confuse me in every way? Trust in God, for we will confess to him, the salvation of my face and my God. For myself, my soul is troubled: for this reason I will remember you from the land of Jordan and Hermonim, from the small mountain. The abyss calls to the abyss in the voice of your abyss: all your heights and your waves have come upon me. In the day the Lord commands his mercy, and in the night his song is from me, a prayer to the God of my life. I say to God: You are my protector, why have you forgotten me? and I go around lamenting, and sometimes the enemy insults me? Always lament my bones, smite my reproach, always say to me every day: Where is your God? How sorrowful are you, my soul? and do you confuse me in every way? Trust in God, for we will confess to him, the salvation of my face and my God.
Since your village is beloved, the Lord of hosts. My soul longs and ends for the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh rejoice in the living God. For the bird will find itself a temple, and the turtle dove will find a nest for itself, where it will lay its young, your altars, the Lord of hosts, my King and my God. Blessed are those who live in your house: they will praise you forever and ever. Blessed is the man who has his intercession with you: put ascension in your hearts, in the vale of sorrow, in the place of the hedgehog (in the vale of sorrow, in the place of the hedgehog lay down: for the one who lays down the law will give the blessing. They will go from strength to strength: the God of gods will appear in Zion. Lord God of strength, hear my prayer, inspire, O God of Jacob. Our protector, see, God, and look upon the face of your Christ. For it is better to have one day in your gates than a thousand: I wish I could wander into the house of my God rather than live in the villages of sinners. Because the Lord loves mercy and truth, God will give grace and glory: The Lord will not deprive the good of those who walk in kindness. Lord God of strength, blessed is the man who trusts in you.
Bless the Lord, my soul. Lord my God, you have been greatly exalted: you have clothed yourself in confession and in the sweat of glory: clothe yourself with light like a robe, stretch out the sky like a skin: cover it with the highest waters your own, relying on the clouds for your ascent, walking on the wing of the wind: creating your angels, spirits, and your servants, a fiery flame: founding the earth on its firmament: not will bow down to the age of eternity. The deep is like its robe; the waters will rise on the mountains; they will flee from your rebuke; they will fear from the voice of your thunder. The mountains rise and the fields descend in the place where you founded them. You have set a limit; they will not pass it; they will return to cover the earth. Send springs into the wilds, and waters will flow through the middle of the mountains. All the animals of the village are drinking, and the onions are waiting for their thirst. On you, the birds of heaven will take root: from the environment the stones will give a voice. Solder the mountains from your high ones: from the fruit of your deeds the earth will be satisfied. Grow grass for cattle, and grain for the service of man, bring forth bread from the ground: and wine gladdeneth the heart of man, anoint the face with oil: and bread maketh man's heart will strengthen. The trees of Poland, the cedars of Lebanon, which you have planted, will be filled: there the birds will nest, the dwelling of Herodius is their leader. High mountains are tree-lined, stone is a refuge for a hare. He created the moon at a time when the sun knew its west. Thou hast laid down the darkness, and the night will come, in which all the beasts of the oak forest will pass, roaring and seizing them and seeking food for themselves from God. The sun has risen, and they have gathered and lie down in their beds. A man will go out to his work and his work until evening. For your works are great, O Lord: in wisdom have you done all things: the earth is filled with your creatures. This is a great and vast sea: there are vermin, of which there is no number, small animals with great ones: there the ships sail, this serpent, whom you also created, curse him. Everyone is looking forward to you, give them food for their good. I will give to you, they will gather: I will open your hand, they will be filled with all kinds of goodness: I will turn away your face, they will be indignant: take away their spirit, and they will disappear into their dust. They will return, follow your Spirit, and they will be created, and you will renew the face of the earth. Be the glory of the Lord forever: the Lord will rejoice in his deeds: look upon the earth and make it shake: touch the mountains, and they will smoke. I will sing to the Lord in my belly, I will sing to my God even though I am: let my conversation delight him, and I will rejoice in the Lord. May sinners and wicked women disappear from the earth, as if they did not exist. Bless the Lord, my soul.
I will bless the Lord always; I will put his praise in my mouth. My soul will glory in the Lord: let the little ones hear and be glad. Magnify the Lord with me, and we will exalt his name together. Seek the Lord, and hear me, and deliver me from all my sorrows. Come to him and be enlightened, and your faces will not be ashamed. This beggar cried out, and the Lord heard him, and saved him from all his sorrows. The angel of the Lord will encamp around those who fear him and will deliver them. Taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man who trusts. Fear the Lord, all your saints, for there is no deprivation for those who fear him. The poor and the hungry are rich; but those who seek the Lord will not be deprived of any good. Come, children, listen to me, I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Who is the man who even lives, loving the days and seeing good things? Keep your tongue from evil and keep your lips from uttering flattery. Avoid evil and do good: seek peace and marriage. The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are upon their prayer. The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, even to consume their memory from the earth. They cried out for righteousness, and the Lord heard them and delivered them from all their sorrows. The Lord is near to those who are broken-hearted, and will save those who are humble in spirit. There will be many sorrows for the righteous, and the Lord will deliver them from all of them. The Lord protects all their bones, not one of them will be broken. The death of sinners is cruel, and those who hate the righteous sin. The Lord will deliver the souls of his servant, and all who trust in him will not sin.
Zealous Intercessor, Compassionate Mother of the Lord, I resort to You, the accursed one and the most sinful man above all. Hear the voice of my prayer and hear my cry and groaning. For my iniquity has exceeded my head, and I, like a ship in the depths, am plunging into the sea of my sins. But You, All-Good and Merciful Lady, do not despise me, desperate and perishing in sins. Have mercy on me, who repent of my evil deeds, and turn my lost, damned soul to the right path. On You, my Lady Theotokos, I place all my hope. Thou, Mother of God, preserve and keep me under Thy roof, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
