Brief life

Memorial Day June 25/July 8

Murom Prince Peter fell in love with a simple girl Fevronia, and this turned the boyars against him. Peter had to leave Murom and renounce the princely throne. The couple endured many troubles until, finally, the Lord looked upon their humility. The boyars, repenting of their stubbornness, began to ask Peter and Fevronia to return. Subsequently, the pious spouses accepted monasticism and, for their loyalty to each other, were honored to rest on the same day. St. Peter and Fevronia pray for fidelity and love between husband and wife.
