You have rejected the life of the world/ and fled the rebellion of the world,/ O holy and God-bearing Father Nile,/ you were not lazy in gathering the flowers of paradise from the writings of your fathers/ and, in having taken over the desert,/ you flourished like a village land,/ from here you passed on to the heavenly abodes;/ teach us, who honor you honestly,/ to walk your royal path// and pray for our souls.
For the love of Christ, having departed from worldly troubles,/ you dwelt in the desert with a joyful soul,/ you labored well in it,/ like an Angel on earth, Father Nile, lived thou art:/ by vigil and fasting thou hast exhausted thy body eternally for the sake of life./ Even now thou hast been honored,/ in the light of indescribable joy of the Most Holy Trinity with the saints We are coming, / pray, pray, fall, your child, / to be preserved from all slander and evil circumstances / visible and invisible enemies / / and to save our souls.
Oh, reverend and blessed Father Nile, our God-wise mentor and teacher! You, for the love of God, moving away from worldly troubles, you deigned to settle in the impassable desert and wilds, and, like a fruitful vine, having multiplied the children of the desert, you showed yourself to them in word, scripture and life the image of all monastic virtues, and, like an Angel in the flesh, having lived on earth, now in the heavenly villages, where they celebrate the unceasing voice, you are installed, and, standing before God from the faces of the saints, you unceasingly bring praise and praise to Him. We pray to you, O blessed God, instruct us, who live under your roof, to walk unfailingly in your footsteps: to love the Lord God with all our hearts, to covet Him alone and about Him To think unitedly, courageously and skilfully fight against the thoughts and intentions of the enemy that drag us down, and always defeat them; love all the crampedness of the monastic life, and hate the red world of this love for the sake of Christ, and plant in your hearts all the virtues in which you yourself have labored. Pray to Christ God, and for all Orthodox Christians living in the world, He will enlighten the mind and eyes of the heart, leading to salvation, and confirm them in faith, and piety, and in keeping His commandments, He will save us from the flattery of this world and will grant them and us remission of sins, and will add to this, according to His false promise, all that we need for our temporary life. Yes, in the desert and in the world we will live a quiet and silent life in all piety and honesty, and we will glorify Him with our lips and hearts together with His Beginning Father and By His Most Holy and Good and Life-giving Spirit always, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages.
