Troparion, tone 5

Holy Infant Gabriel, / you were pierced in the ribs for the one who was perforated for our sake from the Jews / and for the One who drained your blood for us / your whole body was drained of blood / in You betrayed fierce plagues, / now in eternal glory you dwell with Him. / By this, remember us, we pray, who honor your memory here, / asking us for health of body / and salvation of souls ours.

Kontakion, tone 6

Your Fatherland became beasts,/ the martyr of Christ Gabriel,/ from the true beasts of the Jews he was captured:/ you were deprived of your parents,/ having also endured all kinds of cruelty,/ in You have moved from the Heavenly Fatherland./ Delight us here too from all misfortunes and sorrows/ and we beg you, we pray you,// to receive your eternal inheritance.

Prayer

Infant gentleness to the guardian and martyr's courage to the bearer, blessed Gabriel, our country's precious adamante and Jewish wickedness to the accuser! We, sinners, come running to you in prayer and, lamenting our sins and being ashamed of our cowardice, we call to you with love: do not disdain our filth, this purity is our treasure. Do not detest cowardice, long-suffering to the teacher, but more than these, seeing our infirmities from Heaven, grant us healing through your prayer and teach us to be imitators of your fidelity to Christ. If we are not able to patiently bear the cross of temptation and suffering, then even then your merciful help will not deprive us, saint of God, but ask the Lord for freedom and relaxation for us. Also, hear the mothers who pray for their children, and pray for health and salvation for the baby from the Lord. There is no such cruel heart that even hearing about your torment, the holy child, will not be touched, and apart from this tender sigh we can bring no good deed, but and with such a tender thought, enlighten our minds and hearts, O blessed one, to correct our lives by the grace of God. Instill in us tireless zeal for the salvation of the soul and the glory of God, and help us to keep vigilant memory of the hour of death. Most of all, in our deathly dormition, the demonic torment and thoughts of despair from our souls through your intercession fulfilled this hope of Divine forgiveness, both then and now glorify us the mercy of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit and your strong intercession forever and ever. Amen.
